In a global context marked by climate urgency, energy security, and the reconfiguration of international energy markets, the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), together with the National University of Rosario (UNR), announce that enrollment is now open for the third edition of their Master’s in Energy Transitions. This advanced academic program is designed to train the professionals who will lead the next phase of the energy shift in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The master’s program is delivered in a virtual format and comprises a total of 700 academic hours. It responds to a growing need for specialization in critical areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable systems planning, energy economics, energy sector geopolitics, electric mobility, storage, and technological innovation.
With a start date of August 7, 2026, the program is aimed at professionals, researchers, academics, public officials, and decision-makers involved in the energy, environmental, and economic sectors. It is thus established as a regional platform designed to strengthen capacities in one of the most strategic sectors for the coming decade.
Latin America and the Caribbean stand at a crucial juncture: the region has one of the cleanest electricity matrices in the world and holds resources essential for contributing to global decarbonization. However, turning this potential into development requires highly qualified human capital. In this sense, the master’s program seeks to close the gap between technical knowledge, regulation, innovation, and decision-making.
The academic plan combines synchronous classes, asynchronous materials, case studies, academic tutoring, and a preparatory workshop for a thesis or final project. All of this is carried out under an interdisciplinary approach that integrates technical, economic, environmental, social, and regulatory dimensions.
With this new edition, OLACDE reaffirms its commitment to specialized training as one of the fundamental pillars for building more resilient, competitive, and sustainable energy systems in the region.
