The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) opened the call for entries for the second edition of the OLACDE Energy Excellence Award, a regional recognition that honors the most outstanding energy sector projects in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The award aims to showcase and recognize institutions, communities, organizations, and companies that promote a rational and sustainable use of energy resources in the organization’s member countries.
In its 2024 edition, held during the IX Energy Week in Asunción, Paraguay, OLACDE received 71 nominations from across the region and awarded 28 projects of various scales and sectors, both public and private. The projects were assessed for their positive impact on energy efficiency, decarbonization processes, and the use of renewable energy.
For 2025, the organization has added a new category focused on education, aimed at recognizing initiatives that promote technical training, knowledge transfer, and energy awareness in the region.
The nomination categories for this year, 2025, are:
- Energy Efficiency
- Decarbonization
- Renewable Energy
- Education
The call is open to all types of stakeholders in the regional energy community, that is: public or private organizations, large or small, academic or community-based. Nominations will be open until July 27, 2025 and must be submitted by email to: premio.excelenciaenergetica@OLACDE.org.
