Energy Policy Leaders from 21 Latin American and Caribbean Countries Gather for Virtual Workshop on Energy Systems for a Decarbonized Future
Energy policy leaders from 21 Latin American and Caribbean countries participated in a virtual workshop Tuesday and Wednesday (January 25-26) focusing on energy policy options aimed at decarbonization and sustainable development for all. The workshop was co-hosted by OLACDE (Organización Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Energía), Enel Foundation, and the Harvard Environmental Economics Program.

The Program for Latin America and the Caribbean on Energy Efficiency – PALCEE, executed by The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) with the financial support of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), has concluded. The program was implemented since December 2018.

LI Meeting of OLACDE Ministers: Countries ratify the commitment to accelerate energy transitions towards cleaner and lower-carbon systems
Representatives and delegations of the Member Countries of The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) in the LI Meeting of Ministers, which was held in virtual modality, on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 within the framework of the VI Energy Week, discussed the following central issues: agendas for the decarbonization of the energy sector, facilitate strategies for the development of hydrogen as an energy vector and recognize gas as a transition fuel in some countries of the region, if its development is guaranteed in a sustainable manner.

The opening session of the VI edition of the Energy Week was attended by the executive secretary of The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), Alfonso Blanco Bonilla and the manager of the Infrastructure and Energy sector of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ariel Yépez, who agreed on the importance of energy transition and integration at the regional level.
OLACDE at the COP26: The importance of integrated systems in the Latin American and Caribbean region
The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), through the Executive Secretary, Alfonso Blanco, participated in the event organized by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC): Latin America: Wind Power as a Key Driver of Net Zero, held as part of the COP26 dialogues, on the morning of November 8, 2021.
