Call guidelines:
The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) invites the academic community, researchers, professionals, and students to submit research papers for this call titled “Energy Efficiency in Latin America and the Caribbean: Contributions to OLACDE’s White Paper”.
Purpose of the Call:
To foster the production and circulation of technical and applied knowledge on energy efficiency in Latin America and the Caribbean, with an emphasis on methodologies, indicators, public policies, emerging technologies, and sectoral case studies that contribute to the development of OLACDE’s Energy Efficiency White Paper.
Target Audience:
Researchers, specialists, professionals, students, and the academic community of Latin America and the Caribbean.
Thematic Areas:
Submissions are invited on topics related to, but not limited to, the following thematic areas linked to the development of the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Efficiency White Paper, with the aim of providing evidence, methodologies, sectoral studies, and comparative analyses that strengthen its technical content and regional relevance.
The thematic areas include:
• Drivers of EE policy: economic, environmental, social, and energy security.
• Specific and/or related laws and institutions
• Technical regulations and labeling
• Economic instruments: subsidies, guarantee funds, ESCO schemes.
• Sectoral programs: buildings, industry, municipal services, and transport.
• Disruptive technologies applied to EE
• Disaggregated data and energy information systems
• Energy efficiency indicators and measurement methodologies
• Impact evaluation of EE policies and programs
• Success stories in Latin America and the Caribbean
Types of Contribution:
The following types of contributions will be accepted:
• Full Articles: Original and thorough research with conclusive results.
• Short Articles/Research Progress Reports: Presentation of preliminary results, case studies, or research proposals.
Note: Papers may be authored individually or collectively and must not exceed 20 pages in total (including figures, appendices, and references). Citations and reference lists must strictly follow APA 7 guidelines.
Submission Guidelines:
Papers must be original and must not have been previously published or be under review by another journal or event. The originality accreditation document is available in the attached annex.
Manuscripts must be submitted in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and/or French. Article submissions must follow the formats available in the attached annex.
External evaluation of the articles will be conducted by regional and academic experts through a double-blind review process. The initial and final selection of submitted articles will be carried out by the book’s editorial team and the Directorate of Studies, Projects and Information (DEP).
Copyright of the submitted material will remain jointly held by OLACDE and the author(s) of the document, in accordance with the co-ownership regime established under these guidelines.

Dates:
The call is open for submission of articles or research progress reports from now until July 31, 2026.

The submission and review process for papers and/or articles will take place via the email address eficiencia.energetica@olacde.org, therefore, submitted works must be sent exclusively through this channel.
Publication:
Selected articles may be used as technical input for the development of OLACDE’s Energy Efficiency White Paper.
