Andrés Rebolledo Smitmans assumes the position of OLACDE’s Executive Secretary
The Chilean economist and former Minister of Energy during Michelle Bachelet’s administration in Chile, took office as the new Executive Secretary of The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) for the 2023-2025 period, with “solidarity, justice and regional integration” as the guidelines for his administration.
OLACDE’s technical team participated in the summer school Energy Modeling Platform for Latin America and the Caribbean EMP-LAC 2023 in Costa Rica
Technicians and academics from different countries gathered on January 23rd in San Jose, Costa Rica for the summer school meeting “Energy Modeling Platform for Latin America and the Caribbean – EMP-LAC 2023”, whose objective was to contribute to the creation of solutions that promote optimized investments for energy transition in Latin America and the Caribbean; and meet the growing demand for low-carbon, inclusive and resilient development solutions to climate events, considering the sustainable use of resources.
UNEF and OLACDE sign agreement to encourage best practices exchange between Spain and LATAM

OLACDE and IATA sign agreement to boost deployment of SAF in Latin America and the Caribbean
The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish actions and cooperation mechanisms for the exchange of knowledge and information that will favor the development of regulatory frameworks and incentives in the region for the energy transition of the aviation sector towards the use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). This event took place during the VII Energy Week in Panama from December 12 to 16.

Andrés Rebolledo Smitmans, as Executive Secretary of the organization for the period 2023-2025.

Today, December 15, 2022, within the framework of the seventh edition of Energy Week, the LII Meeting of Ministers of The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) was held, a space where 24 delegations of Member Countries of the Organization participated, where experts applauded the progress of the energy sector in the region, emphasizing the energy transition and the facilities for it.
