This report analyzes the economic and environmental impact of electric vehicles in Guatemala and describes the proposed actions to promote the development of the market in the country. The study builds a baseline of average consumption and CO2 emissions by type of private vehicle between 2007-2016, and proposes four scenarios for the penetration of electric vehicles for the period 2017-2030. On the other hand, the proposal identifies the main barriers to the adoption of this technology in the country, and suggests a road map to overcome the obstacles identified and an institutional map with the distribution of responsibilities among the different government entities.
