The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) and the Inter-American Cement Federation (FICEM), represented by their Executive Secretary, Andrés Rebolledo, and their Executive Director, María José García, respectively, signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at boosting the energy sustainability of the cement sector in Latin America and the Caribbean.
This agreement will make it possible to collect, systematize and publish key energy data from the cement sector with accurate and up-to-date information. The data will help improve energy efficiency, optimize regional planning and accelerate industrial decarbonization processes.
The alliance promotes the exchange of technical information, interinstitutional cooperation and access to strategic statistics that will be essential to advance toward a more robust, inclusive and sustainable energy transition in the region.
With this initiative, OLACDE and FICEM reaffirm their commitment to the sustainable development of the Latin American industrial sector, in line with global climate objectives and the 2030 Agenda.
