São Paulo was the setting for the II Latin American Youth Nuclear Forum, a gathering that brought together young leaders, strategic institutions, and experts from the nuclear sector.
Representing the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), consultant Valentina Licanqueo shared the institution’s work in strengthening technical capacities in nuclear energy, highlighting the role of the Technical Operating Group (GTO) and its support to member countries in this field.
During her remarks, Licanqueo underscored the transformative power of youth in the energy sector: “We young people have the tools, the knowledge, and the responsibility to pass on what we’ve learned to our communities, in clear and accessible language.”
She also called for fostering international cooperation and replicating good practices that strengthen youth participation across all energy sectors, promoting diversity, gender equity, and collective learning as pillars of a more inclusive transition.
Through this participation, OLACDE reaffirms its commitment to empowering new generations and building a more sustainable and equitable regional energy agenda.
