On December 7, 2021, a Meeting of Energy Ministers of MERCOSUR Member Countries was held, to which the associated states of Bolivia and Chile were invited.
LI Meeting of OLACDE Ministers: Countries ratify the commitment to accelerate energy transitions towards cleaner and lower-carbon systems
Representatives and delegations of the Member Countries of The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) in the LI Meeting of Ministers, which was held in virtual modality, on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 within the framework of the VI Energy Week, discussed the following central issues: agendas for the decarbonization of the energy sector, facilitate strategies for the development of hydrogen as an energy vector and recognize gas as a transition fuel in some countries of the region, if its development is guaranteed in a sustainable manner.
Ministerial Declaration of the LI Meeting of Ministers of The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization
The Energy Ministers representing the Member Countries of The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), who met virtually on November 24, 2021 at the LI Meeting of Ministers, signed 14 important milestones that make up the Ministerial Declaration, a document that guides regional energy policy and OLACDE’s role in this area.
IRENA and OLACDE strengthen their commitment to boost renewables in Latin America and the Caribbean

VI Energy Week: OLACDE and IDB launched the Energy Management Systems Observatory
The launch of this Observatory of Energy Management Systems, which has segmented information on the energy sector of more than 25 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, was officially announced on November 18 during the second day of the VI Energy Week, 2021.

The opening session of the VI edition of the Energy Week was attended by the executive secretary of The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), Alfonso Blanco Bonilla and the manager of the Infrastructure and Energy sector of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ariel Yépez, who agreed on the importance of energy transition and integration at the regional level.
OLACDE at the COP26: The importance of integrated systems in the Latin American and Caribbean region

The Republic of Panama now has an Energy Information System (siePanama), which is a free and open access platform with a technological base that enables decision making in the short, medium and long term, on the country’s statistical information.
OLACDE at COP26: Three new countries join the RELAC initiative
Yesterday morning The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) participated in the Side Event organized by the RELAC initiative “Renewing Energy Transition Ambitions in Latin America and the Caribbean,” which was held in the framework of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) taking place in Glasgow-Scotland.
