Latin America and the Caribbean are moving towards more sustainable energy systems. However, the deployment of new projects raises a critical question: how can we build trust and ensure that communities become active participants in energy development?
On September 22, the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) will bring together experiences from Colombia, Brazil and Chile to explore how to move beyond consultation and dialogue towards models of effective participation, territorial partnerships and shared value creation.
⚡ Real-world experiences. Lessons for the entire region.
The webinar will showcase experiences in building trust in La Guajira, expanding access to solar energy in Brazil, lessons from Chile’s just socio-ecological transition and the phase-out of coal-fired power plants, as well as the challenges of integrating renewable energy projects into local communities and territories.
The lessons drawn from these experiences will contribute to the development of the Regional Protocol for Citizen Participation and the Regional Repository of Experiences, as part of the implementation of Ministerial Decision LV/D/581.
