As part of the Mercosur + Chile Gas Integration project, developed by the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) together with the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), the technical workshop “Lessons Learned from the First Argentine Gas Exports to Brazil with Bolivia as a Transit Country” was held.
The event brought together private sector representatives and regional specialists, who shared experiences and proposals to optimize gas integration in three key areas: gas quality and measurement across different markets, operational scheduling and coordination, and infrastructure development.
The workshop featured the participation of leading figures in the sector, including: Oscar Claros (YPFB), Pablo Erias (TGN), Rodrigo Senne Dos Santos (MGAS), Javier Di Prisco (Tecpetrol), Tatiana Lemos (Edge), Roberto Schloesser (Tradener), Leandro Carbone (Refinor), and Marisa Basualdo (TotalEnergies).
During the opening session, Guido Maiulini, OLACDE’s Chief of Strategic Advisory, emphasized that this space for technical and strategic dialogue “constitutes a valuable opportunity to identify constraints and advance the development of regulatory frameworks and transit infrastructure that enable greater integration.”
Through this workshop, OLACDE reinforces its role as a regional facilitator in building cooperation frameworks that promote safer, more efficient, and more sustainable energy markets across Latin America and the Caribbean.
