The Head of Strategic Advisory of the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), Guido Maiulini, participated in the XXXIV La Jolla Energy Conference, organized by the Institute of the Americas, where he spoke about Mercosur’s gas integration as an opportunity to optimize infrastructure, attract investment and strengthen regional energy security.
During his remarks, Maiulini stressed that:
“The Southern Cone has gas resources that exceed domestic demand for more than half a century; the challenge is to turn that abundance into effective integration and regional energy development.”
He also presented the DEMA Project, an initiative driven by OLACDE to build a regional energy data ecosystem that integrates information from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, leveraging artificial intelligence tools to strengthen energy planning, technical cooperation and evidence-based decision-making in Latin America and the Caribbean.
OLACDE’s participation in this event reaffirms the organization’s commitment to sustainable development, energy integration and the digital transformation of the sector.
