The leading energy forum in Latin America and the Caribbean will bring together authorities from 27 nations in Santiago to discuss the strategic challenges of the region’s energy transition, focusing on topics such as decarbonization, artificial intelligence, and a just energy transition.
The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), Chile’s Ministry of Energy, and Chile’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs have officially announced the 10th Energy Week, an event that will feature the participation of energy authorities from the international organization’s 27 member countries.
This forum is considered the most important in regional energy policy and will take place from September 30 to October 3, 2025, in Santiago, Chile. The event will address crucial topics such as the decarbonization of electricity matrices, artificial intelligence and its impact on the electricity sector, demand management systems, regional energy integration, and the role of natural resources in energy security and the climate transition.
Chile’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren, said that “for Chile, it is an honor to host the tenth edition of Energy Week. Energy is an essential part of our identity and development, and we want to share our experience, our progress, but also our energy challenges with the entire region. We welcome a country that believes in integration and multilateralism as the best path to prosper together.”
Meanwhile, Energy Minister Diego Pardow added that “Chile’s commitment to climate action and regional energy integration is reflected in every public policy we have implemented. We are proud to host the energy community of the Americas during this crucial week for the future of the sector.”
Highlighted activities include the 55th Meeting of Energy Ministers, OLACDE’s 3rd Business Council, and a series of technical sessions featuring more than 180 panelists and approximately 3,000 attendees in direct dialogue among governments, the private sector, and multilateral organizations.
“Energy Week has established itself as the most influential event for strategic dialogue in the energy field in Latin America and the Caribbean. In this edition, we aim to highlight concrete solutions for a transition that is technological, fair, and inclusive,” said Andrés Rebolledo, Executive Secretary of OLACDE.
Event details
As part of the 10th Energy Week, a series of parallel events will take place to enrich multisectoral dialogue on the sector’s main challenges and opportunities. Among them is the event “Socio-Territorial Challenges for the Energy Transition,” which will bring together public and private sector actors, civil society, and communities to build a regional map of socio-territorial strategies that drive inclusive and sustainable energy projects.
The award ceremony for the second edition of the Energy Excellence Awards will also take place, recognizing outstanding initiatives from public, private, academic, and community actors.
Another key event will be the 2nd International Seminar on Energy Interconnection in Latin America, addressing the technical, political, and economic challenges of regional integration; the 1st Latin American and Caribbean Youth Meeting on Energy, aimed at empowering new voices in energy governance; and the academic event “Connecting Minds, Energizing the Future,” to be held in La Serena with the participation of universities, research centers, and young professionals in the sector.
Chile, as host country for this tenth edition, stands out for its ambitious energy policy. It has achieved 60% installed capacity in non-conventional renewable energy, leads the region in solar power, and is making significant progress in green hydrogen development. It also promotes a modern regulatory framework for energy efficiency, electric mobility, and low-emission land use planning.
