The ETRELA project is funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI). IKI operates a mechanism through which complaints or grievances regarding the project can be filed. The mechanism is intended to allow people who suffer (potential) negative social and/or environmental consequences from IKI projects, or who wish to report misuse of funds, to voice their complaints and seek redress. Doing so should also help to:
- monitor and improve the environmental and social outcomes of the projects
- avoid unintended negative impacts of the projects going unnoticed by ZUG and BMWK, BMUV and AA,
- support the appropriate use of public funds, and
- comply with international best practices.
