The academic scope is delivered through six main modules with a total workload of 140 hours. Content includes: Introduction to Strategic Minerals, Geological Distribution and Reserves, Geopolitics and Economics of Minerals, Technology and Innovation in Mining (DME04), Mining and Sustainable Development, and Social Impact and Governance in Strategic Mining. These areas make it possible to explore everything from the geological foundations to the regulatory frameworks and public policies required for the sector.
Upon completion of the training, participants will have acquired the skills to analyse the relevance of minerals in the global economy and their role in the energy transition, as well as to explore regional reserves. They will gain critical tools to assess environmental and social impacts, and to identify public policies and regulatory frameworks for responsible mining under international standards. Ultimately, graduates are expected to strengthen the institutional capacity of their organisations and promote a development model that links strategic resources with community well-being and equity.
