The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) took part in the Madrid Energy Conference 2025 through its Chief of Staff, Mijal Brady, who spoke on the panel “Energy Coexistence: Balancing Hydrocarbons and Renewables to Meet Needs and Requirements of Distinct Geographies,” organized by the Instituto de las Am\u00e9ricas and IPD Latin America.<\/p>\n
During her remarks, Brady emphasized that the energy transition in Latin America and the Caribbean cannot be homogeneous, but must instead adapt to the specific realities of each country, strategically combining renewable sources and fossil fuels.<\/p>\n
“We are not choosing between clean energy and development. We are choosing both. And that is the true power of coexistence,” she stated.<\/p>\n
OLACDE’s representative highlighted the role of natural gas as a transition fuel, the need for realistic public policies, and the value of regional energy integration in ensuring equitable and sustainable access to energy.<\/p>\n
