The Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE)<\/span><\/strong> and the University of Santiago de Chile (USACH)<\/span><\/strong> signed a strategic cooperation agreement to drive technical and academic training in energy transition across Latin America and the Caribbean, with an emphasis on e-mobility, transport electrification, and the transformation of the region’s energy system.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, OLACDE’s Executive Secretary, Andr\u00e9s Rebolledo<\/span><\/strong>, noted that this alliance “will benefit not only the university community, but also the regional energy ecosystem”<\/span><\/strong>, and announced the agreement’s first concrete outcome: the joint rollout of a regional diploma program in e-mobility<\/span><\/strong>, aimed at public- and private-sector professionals from OLACDE’s 27 member countries.<\/p>\n

“This initiative builds on a solid academic program, with eleven previous editions, and will be a key training platform to support the technological changes already under way in the region,” said Rebolledo.<\/p>\n

For his part, Dr. Mat\u00edas D\u00edaz<\/span><\/strong>, Director of USACH’s Department of Electrical Engineering, reflected on the road traveled so far:<\/p>\n

“Five or six years ago we began this process with enthusiasm, and today, after twelve successful editions of the diploma program, we can proudly say that we are the leading university in e-mobility in Chile. Thanks to this agreement with OLACDE, we plan to train professionals from across Latin America, contributing from academia to the energy paradigm shift the region needs.”<\/p>\n

This agreement represents a strategic step in building a regional academic network<\/span><\/strong> to support the processes of decarbonization, digitalization, and electrification<\/span><\/strong> of Latin American economies.
