Over four days, the event, organized by the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), the Ministry of Energy of Chile, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), the World Bank, and GET.transform, brought together:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 2,500 visitors from 49 countries<br \/>\n\u2022 Participation of 220 panelists<br \/>\n\u2022 160 international organizations convened; governments, companies, NGOs, parliamentarians, worker representatives, young people, and universities<br \/>\n\u2022 60 hours of debate on the regional energy agenda.<\/p>\n<p>As part of this Week, the Annual Meeting of Ministers of Energy of OLACDE&#8217;s 27 member countries was also held, yielding significant results:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 &#8220;Ministerial Decisions&#8221; were approved on strategic topics: i) Energy and Labor, ii) the Dialogue Process for Regional Regulatory Convergence, iii) Just Energy Transition with Communities Near Energy Projects, and iv) Electric Energy Storage.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Likewise, a majority of the region&#8217;s countries adopted a target to reach 95% coverage of access to &#8220;Clean Cooking&#8221; technologies in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the understanding that each country, in the exercise of its sovereignty and in accordance with its economic, social, and cultural realities, will define its own pathways for advancing this objective, in line with international commitments and national priorities.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 As part of this meeting, OLACDE&#8217;s member countries also re-elected the Organization&#8217;s current Executive Secretary, economist and former Minister of Energy of Chile Andr\u00e9s Rebolledo Smitmans, for the 2026-2029 term.<\/p>\n<p>At the close of the event, OLACDE highlighted that Energy Week has become a true laboratory of ideas and a cooperation platform that projects the energy future of Latin America and the Caribbean toward a more sustainable, inclusive, and integrated model.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, it was announced that the 11th Energy Week will be held in the Dominican Republic in October 2026, continuing this space for regional integration and cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With Santiago as the epicenter of the regional energy debate, the 10th Energy Week closed this Friday, cementing itself as the most relevant forum for the sector in Latin America and the Caribbean.
