The Energy Transformation Summit 2025, organized by El Mercurio together with the Chilean Renewable Energy and Storage Association (ACERA), brought together leaders, experts, and decision-makers from the energy sector in Santiago to discuss the trends, challenges, and opportunities that will shape the sector’s future.<\/p>\n
During the event, key topics were addressed, including the development of public energy policy, the promotion of smart cities, energy efficiency, storage, and electromobility, with the goal of creating a space for dialogue and collaboration that fosters innovative and sustainable solutions for the country.<\/p>\n
Representing the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) was its Executive Secretary, Andr\u00e9s Rebolledo, who spoke on the panel “Energy security on the path to carbon neutrality.”<\/p>\n
During his remarks, Rebolledo stated:<\/p>\n
“Electrification will be a leading force in the energy transition. This requires coordinated planning among countries and greater regional electricity integration to ensure competitiveness and security.”<\/p>\n
Also participating on the panel were Trinidad Castro, Director for Latin America at the World Energy Council; Cristi\u00e1n Aguirre, General Manager of Empresas GASCO; and Juan Villavicencio, CEO of Engie Chile.<\/p>\n
